Auto Belayers

Never used an auto belayer? They are simple to use. Just clip in with the auto locking biner to your harness and start climbing. It works similar to a seatbelt without the sudden jerk. This is great because it allows you to down climb routes. Being proficient at down climbing is a skill every rock scrambler needs!

You need to climb in a straight line and not traverse too far from the belay device, which is on the ceiling.

When you are finished climbing, make sure to attach the biner back to the dead weight. See the photo.
