Today (2-7), Kathy and I hiked through Black Velvet Canyon in South Red Rock Canyon. I knew the canyon would be full of water with all the rain yesterday. It was fun. I had only seen the canyon like this once before. Normally Black Velvet is a dry canyon.
I chose Black Velvet Canyon because it's rare the canyon has water and I was not sure if the Scenic Loop Road would be open. This canyon leads to Black Velvet Peak and Hidden Peak. Both are great hikes, but not with the snow on the sandstone.
The clouds were low making for some great black n white photos.
