Today 5-8-09, Kathy and I hiked Fletcher Canyon to Obstacle Rock. There's still enough water to make this a great hike, but the snow is melting fast. I believe Big Falls would really be flowing now. Not sure if Mary Jane Falls is flowing much anymore. The snow the falls depends on is south facing and might have melted already.
The South Loop trail is now opened for the summer. It had been closed along with Cathedral Rock Picnic Area to stop the crowds of people damaging nearby homes.
There's a proposal to close Cathedral Rock Picnic Area around November of 2009 to April 2011. I will find out if this also closes South Loop and Cathedral Rock trailheads.
