Death Valley

On the last day of February, I took a day trip to Death Valley with Meetup.com. It's about a two hour drive to the entrance to the park. We met at Badwater, the lowest point in the United States.

We then drove to the Golden Canyon Trail and hiked all the way to Zabriskie Point. You can also drive to this spot. In fact you pass it as you drive into Death Valley from Las Vegas. The Golden Canyon is a very scenic hike and highly recommended. You can make the hike as long or short as you want via several options and side paths.
It's been rumored it will be a pretty good wild flower season this year in Death Valley. The flowers should start to bloom by late March.
