Yesterday (2-7), Richard and Eva led me on a hike to Hidden Twin Tanks out of Calico Basin. IMO, this is the best short hike in Red Rock! The tanks are amazing and the route has the classic turns and twists Red Rock routes are known for. These deep tanks are high in the sandstone are hard to find. Members of www.hikinglasvegas.com will soon be able to download the step by step hiking guide so they can find these hidden treasures.
Though the temperatures are rising, there's still a lot of snow on north faces in Red Rock. It's going to take another week of sunshine and 60+ degree days to melt the ice in Red Rock. Hang in there. Prime Red Rock season is just around the corner.
