Slide Show of the White Rock Hills Peak SE Gully Route

I just published the slide show of the above route we did on Sunday. This route has lots of scrambling and is a great winter time hike. The gully the route ascend is SE facing. Members can download the hike directions here. The gully gets lots of sun this time of the year. We did not encounter any ice; however, all north facing routes have ice. I recommend waiting until the ice melts. It will be awhile. There are plenty of fun scrambling routes in Calico Hills and on Kraft Mountain. These routes rarely see ice.
I had a snow report about Mt. Charleston. There's plenty of snow on north facing slopes, but the snow is thin on south facing slopes. Las Vegas Ski Resort is reporting a 30 inch base of snow at around 8,500 feet. The runs are all north facing. This will probably change this week with the forecast calling for possible snow and cooler temperatures in the mountains.
