Today (11-17) Missy, Susan and I hiked to Calico Tank. As you can see in the photo, there's still quite a bit of water in the tank. Overall the trail is in good shape; however, after the first quarter of a mile there are no trail signs. Evidence of the flood a few months ago can be seen in the photo to the right. Before the rain this was an easy scramble that dogs could do. Luckily there's a work-around to the right for dogs and people.
Calico Tank is one of the most popular level 1 hikes in Red Rock Canyon.
we hiked through here friday and a couple of times i had too remind myself i was on the route to calico tank. it made me respect what water can do!
