On Sunday (11-18), nine hikers scrambled to Terrace Canyon Peak in Red Rock Canyon. This was the first time a group has done this route. Mark and I just found the route about two weeks ago. Everyone did well and I believe enjoyed the hike. We had great weather. Over the years I believe this route will see many hikers. Here's a slide show of the hike.
I wanted to do this hike before it got cold or snowed. The route has many north facing sections. These areas are the last to be clear of snow or ice.
The Stats for this hike:
Distance: 7 miles — round trip
Elevation gain: 2,250 feet
Elevation peak: 6,250 feet
Time: 5 to 7 hours
Danger level: 3
How easy to follow: 3
