Happy Thanksgiving from Shark Boulder

10 hikers spent part of Thanksgiving Day on top of Shark Boulder in Red Rock Canyon. This was the first group hike to The Shark! The hike starts at Pine Creek trailhead. The route travels through the south fork of Pine Creek before following Juniper Peak from the Backside route. It breaks from that route after climbing out of Pine Creek and heads for Shark Boulder. From the Shark it's only 15 minutes to Juniper Peak. The route then descends via the normal Juniper Peak route. Here's a slide show of the hike.
The Stats:

Distance: 6 miles – round trip

Elevation gain: 2,109 feet

Elevation peak: 6,109 feet

Time: 5 to 7 hours – round trip

Difficulty: 3

Danger level: 3

Class: 4 if doing Shark Boulder; otherwise Class 3

How easy to follow: 3

Today, Mark and I are trying to get on top of Red Throbber Spire, a red pinnacle across from Dark Shadows in Pine Creek.
