Kraft Mtn - Good Summer Hike

Today (5-22), Kathy and I did Kraft Mountain up and across. This is a good summer hike if you get an early start. Since it's outside the Scenic Loop, you can start as early as you want. There are actually two routes: up and across or up and down the backside. The first route is shorter by about 30 minutes.

Either route has lots of scrambling on it and both are steep enough to give you a good workout. The descent routes are well cairned, which is important since they are not easy to follow. Most of my hiking now will be in Charleston, but it's nice to sneak out to Red Rock once in awhile.
