Twin Tanks in Northern Calico Basin

On Saturday (1-3), fourteen hikers followed a wild and twisting route to the Twin Tanks in northern Calico Basin. This is one of my favorite short hikes in Red Rock. The tanks had water and ice in them. It was a weird day for weather. From clouds and wind to sunny and still.
From the tanks we headed to Gray Cap Peak. Awesome views and a sign in book, which the tanks do not have, makes for a great second destination.
Today Nick and I are going to try Mummy Mountain. This will be my first winter peak in the snow. I am starting to like winter mountaineering.
