Lots of Hiking This Weekend

On Saturday, 14 hikers relaxed in Arizona Hot Springs after climbing Fortress Butte. It was a good day with plenty of sunshine and decent temperatures. Fortress Butte is a class 3 climb with some loose rock along the route. The views from the top are outstanding. After reaching the summit we descended and followed the wash to the hot springs, which are in good shape. The hot water felt good on sore muscles.

On Sunday, seven hikers made their way to the summit of Magic Mountain. The route was snow free, but this is an east facing route. There's still snow on north facing routes in Red Rock, though it will be melted by the weekend if the weather holds.
