REI is now taking applications on their web site for positions in their Summerlin location. Not sure exactly when they will open, but their web site stated in the fall. This is good news for us who live on the west side. The store in Henderson was a loooong drive!
Long Delays on 215
215 will be closed at Far Hills for up to eight months. The project will widen 215 to six lanes between Charleston and Summerlin Parkway. Also the lights at Far Hills and Summerlin Parkway will be eliminated. This is good news for 2009 travel, but will require detours until then.
Snakes!
We saw a rattlesnake during a moonlight hike on Wednesday. It is pretty rare to see them this time of the year and we were around 6,000 feet, an elevation most rattlesnakes tend to shy away from. Not to worry...this is only the ninth rattlesnake I have seen in 13 years of hiking.
