Ice Box Peak

Ice Box Peak is one tough peak to reach. The route follows the trail into Ice Box Canyon. Just before the seasonal waterfall the route climbs out of the canyon on the left side. The initial climb is exposed and steep. Soon the route enters a steep gully with two chockstones that are challenging. Once past the second chockstone, the route becomes easier and climbs to the summit ridge. From the ridge you can see all the way down into another fork of Ice Box Canyon. Here's a panorama from the summit of Ice Box Peak. And here's a slide show of the route; however, the slide show continues beyond the peak dropping into the canyon seen from the peak. You can find a detailed route description in the Members Only section of this web site.
