Scenic Loop Road Closes at 5 PM

The Scenic Loop Road will close at 5 PM starting November 1st until the end of February. Make sure to be off the Scenic Loop by 5 PM to avoid a very hefty fine. This only applies to the Scenic Loop and Calico Basin, not First Creek trailhead or south Red Rock. The Scenic Loop opens at 6 AM everyday of the year. That gives you 11 hours, minus driving time, to do any hike along the Scenic Loop. Anyone in decent shape should be able to complete any hike on the web site. Obviously, you must know the route.
