Various Updates

There have been some minor improvements on the South Loop trail to Charleston Peak. The loose gravel a little before Echo Cave has been replaced with firm dirt. This makes it much easier to descend. Speaking of Charleston Peak, the books are getting full and will need to be replaced soon.

Due to technical reasons I can not send out the August Newsletter yet. I am working on this and hopefully have the issue resolve tomorrow. This will be the last weekend I will be in town for awhile. Kathy and I will be in Carpentar Canyon, Zion, Yosemite and the Sierra starting next weekend. Members can look forward to new hikes from those areas.

Something amazing looks like it will happen this Friday. According to the National Weather Service, the high this Friday will be 92 degrees! This is unheard of for August and will be 15 degrees lower than today! You could actually hike in Red Rock Canyon.
